The Birdwell Bath Project

project spotlight

This small, outdated bathroom needed a complete overhaul. With leaking faucets, a chipped sink, no cabinet doors and a peeling floor, the room was in dire need of a new look, not to mention basic repair. Since we had already remodeled the family’s kitchen, they entrusted us to turn their bath into a beautiful getaway. The homeowner wanted a shower to replace the unsightly tub, so our first step was to move the toilet in order to fit a large, luxury shower with a frameless glass door that instantly made the room appear larger. We installed a rich, dark cherry furniture piece cabinet for the vanity with a matching mirror. Bronze fixtures and a granite counter top added to the elegant look of the vanity. We finished the walls with Venetian plaster and replaced the peeling parque-look stick-on tiles with porcelain, travertine style flooring. To add to the ambience of the room, we installed recessed and vanity lighting with dimmer switches. In the end, this bath was transformed from a deteriorating eyesore into a relaxing retreat.
